Personal Projects
All of the Super8 transfers that are presented on the sub menus of this page were done via a digital process, not the older process using a rear projection screen and mirror. There are no hot spots or flicker created during the transfer process and a low wattage light source is used so there was never any danger of burning the film. In addition to the mechanical process, all transfers were fully attended, meaning that they are monitored and adjusted for changes in lighting and white balance.
These are my personal video projects. Many were created from Super8 silent and sound film. There are tens of thousands of Regular8 and Super8 films that were created in the 1930′s through the 1980′s that contain so much history. Not only families but historical events as well. The most famous of course is the 1963 Zapruder film of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. My own films contain scenes of race tracks, buildings and lakes that are now gone, and sadly friends and family members who are no longer with us. I encourage everyone to find their old films and have them converted to digital video so you can preserve those memories for many generations to come. The technology of today can insure a fantastic conversion and the experience of a good editor and effects artist can make those images as perfect as possible. And with the internet you can share your memories almost instantly thanks to sites such as YouTube and Vimeo.
